Candlestick Craze

So I go through phases, this one involves candlesticks. At Goodwill the other day, I found a ton of good stuff to glue together. Hello silver tray and tiered serving tray. I love the silver pieces, they are classic. I really wanted the tiered tray all one color, but didn't have the heart to paint the silver! So I left it. I've also been working on crafts, here's random holiday stuff!

I spray painted the candlesticks white!

I bought scrapbook paper and it came with a thin sheet of cardboard. I cut out this pendant design and voila! a halloween banner. I glued ribbon to the back and around an iron rod.
This is an average ol' planter pot, it was white and I bought Pumpkin Orange from Krylon and turned the sprayer vertical to give it "pumpkin lines". The branches I got from my yard and spray painted them black. I just hot glued a foam block inside and pushed the branches in. Eventually I will add bats, or ghosts!

Choosing colors

I took a color theory class in college, and it was by far one of the best classes. It showed you how to mix colors, the base of a color and most important how to put colors together. I get asked a lot by people what colors they should use in their home. I use a website that is amazing and thought I would share it.
I generally do three walls a lighter color, and then do an accent wall darker. Or if using a dark color, use a lighter trim color. White brightens any room up, so if you are using darker paint, make sure there is a lot of natural light, I love using white as an accent!
Color combos are always perfect in nature!! I love this site, hope you do too!

Running my guts out....

The End....

The beginning....
The Hot beautiful DAY!!

So my final race of the year is on Saturday. All the sweat, (and lots of it) is finally paying off for this one moment. I had a race a couple weeks ago from Rainier to Ruston, which was totally fun. This one is through Seattle, and I'm nervous. I'm running with a state champion/college scholarship runner....Juliette. Who walks as fast as I run! It'll be fun though, there is a band every mile, we get swag bags, and Everclear is the concert at the end, which we get to go see. I'm excited, and I hope I don't die! Here's some pics from the last race!

Ava's room - The Wall

Finally!!! Ava's room is finished!! I can go on with life, cook meals, take care of kids, and clean my house!! Glad to have the wall done. I wanted a tree, vinyl would have been ideal, but I'm on a budget and an $85 tree doesn't really count as desiging on a budget. So I pulled up a picture, sketched it out and painted it. I am not an artist. In fact the first tree I did was awful. I re-evaluated and I think it turned out fine, the leaves really helped. 2nd thing I wanted was to incorporate shelves, I found this cute vinyl tree and found some shelves at Fred Meyer. They were $15 a piece. Ouch! I wanted 3. Well I will buy one a month for the next three months! When I got home the mounting hardware was missing, so it's not in the pics. Maybe I will come up with a cheaper way, my husband said he would make me some, but next year...haha!
